Ideas and profiles of success at the intersection of design, technology and global business

vStudio

This month we are excited to share the first of a series of exciting platforms that we have developed. The vStudio application platform is a compelling set of proven interactive components to support your sales, marketing and customer communication. With the vStudio module, you transform your customer’s interactive experience with a set of user friendly and highly functional tools. This helps your clients in their selection and decision making process for your products and services.

These modules have been recognized by the market with awards and more importantly by endorsements from sales teams and users. They can be customized, integrated and enhanced to meet your specific needs. Below are initial examples of projects we have developed in this area.

Visualizer Platforms
Visualizer applications by Azul Arc engage customers through a customizable interactive experience. They create larger perspective product views in 3D environments. A great example of a successfully implemented visualizer is a point of sale visualizer tool for Mannington Commercial, which won the Dealer’s Choice Award from Floor Covering Weekly at Surfaces 2010. The application has easy drag and drop features, multiple room views and combinations of flooring, cove base and wall colors that can be changed. Check it out at - www.manningtonworkplace.com

Virtual catalog, Drag and Drop,
Environmental Spec Builder

Looking back, many of our most successful projects fall into our vStudio platforms including the Virtual Catalog, Drag and Drop and the Environmental Spec Builder (ESB). Our Virtual Catalog implementation for Mannington Commercial is a highly recognized virtual library tool (e.g. http://207.245.65.105/commercial/
virtualcatalog/index.html
).

Our Drag and Drop platform allows designers to work with images by dragging high resolution images directly into their design software
(e.g.www.themohawkgroup.com/dragandfly/site/ index.asp). ESB helps customers and sales teams to get specific environmental attributes for any product in their line at the click of a button
(e.g.http://www.mannington.com/esb/Fpage.aspx?
Style_Num=PROVM&Style_Name=Provenance&
Backingid=8
).

Tools and Technologies – Emerging Trends in Immersive Experiences

More and more the future of interactive is 3D and immersive experiences. Technologies are progressing to look at how we can include a “third dimension” for more impactful impressions. The trend is becoming more apparent in three areas that we frequently interact with.

The movie industry is betting big on 3D. The huge success of James Cameron’s Avatar is opening people’s eyes to a new level of movie entertainment. Additional movies like Alice in Wonderland are starting to appear in theatres and the emphasis continues to elevate.

Sony has recently made a big bet on it’s future, linking itself with 3D television. Sony CEO Howard Stringer has put a huge focus on 3D TV offerings in an effort to bring Sony great success.

Mobile internet and data plans have become synonymous with each other because significant improvements in phones have come parallel with mobile data upgrades. Although it seems like 3G just got here, 4G is very close now. According to the about.com glossary, “4G promises voice, data and high-quality multimedia in real-time (“streamed”) form all the time and anywhere.” What this means is a more comprehensive and real-time experience from your phone and other forms of media access.
