Good Design Award

Happy New Year and all the best in 2010 from Azul Arc! The new year promises to be an exciting year and we are looking forward to the challenges ahead. This month we feature some great web sites that utilize social media and open source tools.

Off to a great start, we are delighted to announce that we have been recognized for our efforts with a “Good Design Award” for 2009 in the Graphics, Identity and Packaging section for the Mannington Virtual Library. The Good Design Award is part of the 2009 International Awards presented by The Chicago Athenaeum, whose press release describes the award, “Good Design bestows international recognition upon the world's most prominent designers and manufacturers for advancing new, visionary, and innovative product concepts, invention and originality, and for stretching the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary product and consumer design.”

The Consumer Electronics Show

A great way to take advantage of blogs and twitter is to use them to remotely attend the events that you cannot. Regardless of your profession, there is no doubt that the biggest conventions get micro-covered by the attendees. This is not only incentive to create your own blog or tweet a big event that you attend, in order to establish greater expertise and recognition. But, it also means that you can get educated and stay up to date on your industry’s most important trends.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which was just held from January 7-10 is the most anticipated electronics convention of the year and is often a sign of things to come in technology. While Azul Arc is only indirectly related to consumer electronics, we are using blogs and social media sites to keep an eye on any developing trends in technology or consumer engagement allowing us to offer greater value to our clients down the road.
