You’ve probably visited Wikipedia.com before, but do you know what a wiki is? The word “wiki wiki” is Hawaiian for fast. Wiki's are user generated, collaborative resources that can often serve as a guide or resource. At Azul Arc, we often uses wiki's to help with researching new web 2.0 technologies or learning how to optimize those tools. Many of the web platforms we have featured in the past have their own wiki pages where users can share their tips and new developments. The next time you are trying to learn something new, look for the wiki page as a helpful resource.
Wiki's can be more than just user generated. They can be created by users. There are several sites that allow you to create your own wiki that you can use as a tool for business or personal resources. Two of the most popular are www.wetpaint.com and www.wikispaces.com. Creating your own wiki can be an easy way to involve yourself in web 2.0. |
